today announced Sri Viswanath as its Senior Vice President of
Engineering and Operations. He will report to interim CEO Eric Lefkofsky.

Viswanath joins Groupon from VMWare, where he served as vice president
of research and development for mobile computing. Prior to VMWare, he
was senior vice president of Engineering at Glam Media and general
manager of its publisher products group. He was also the SVP of
Engineering at Ning, Inc., and was instrumental in that company's
acquisition by Glam. Before that, he worked at Sun Microsystems where he
led development of a number of very successful open-source and
business-to-business products.
